Biography
John Barnicoat (b. Cornwall, UK 1924 - d. 2013) lived in London. After service in the Navy during World War II service, Barnicoat studied history at Oxford University. He was a student at Royal College of Art (1952–5), then was senior tutor there in the painting school (1976–80), participating in the Royal College of Art Exhibition Road show in 1988. He had his first solo show at Galerie Colette Allendy, in Paris, in 1959.
