Senior Art Producer and Cultural Strategy lead for the City of London Corporation’s London Wall West project, Megan O’Shea has been invited to take part in Future Cities Forum ‘Cultural Cities: green visitor attractions and culture on the High Street’ on 27 January at 2pm.
Future Cities Forum debates the latest urban investment, regeneration, planning and design issues around the world, bringing together city leaders, councils, long-term investors, developers, planners, infrastructure and transport operators, construction companies, technology innovators, hospital trusts, universities, cultural organisations, architects, engineers and real estate advisers. As work progresses to move the Museum of London to its new site in Smithfield Market, consultation has been taking place to decide what should happen at the site of its original home at London Wall West.
The forum will look at the importance of the public realm at London Wall West, not only in consideration of biodiversity and sustainability concerns but also how it can harness culture and creative activation for the local community and a wider public audience. The discussion will examine how public space can be enhanced by ‘designing in’ cultural uses at the master planning stage to generate a more equitable, accessible public realm.
