William Palmer Robins RWS RE (1882 - 1959)

Biography

William Palmer Robins (b. Southwark, London 1882 - d. 1959) studied at St Martin’s School, Goldsmith’s College and at the Royal College of Art under Frank Short. Robins, in common with James Abbott McNeill Whistler and Francis Seymour Haden, etched from nature onto pre-prepared plates. He later taught at St Martin’s and at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in addition to publishing, in 1922, his instructional Etching Craft: A Guide for Students and Collectors.
