William 'Bill' Henderson (1941 - 2019)

Biography

Bill Henderson (b. Ringmer, Sussex UK 1941 - d. 2019 Beckenham, Kent,, UK) studied at Brighton College of Art from 1959-1963, and at the Slade School of Art from 1963-1965. He was visiting tutor at Winchester School of Art, Chelsea College of Art and at the Faculty of Fine Art, South Glamorgan Institute, Cardiff and a Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (1981-2002). He participated in many group shows and his recent solo exhibitions were held at the Ian Birksted Gallery (1979, 1980 and 1982); Gardner Arts Centre, Brighton (1991); APT Gallery, Deptford London (2007); Bankside Gallery, London (2015) and Cello Factory Gallery, London (2016) as well as having mid-term retrospective at the Arnolfini Gallery, Bristol in 1983. He was a member of The London Group and the Royal Watercolour Society.
