Vicki Olverson (1956)

Biography

Vicki Olverson (b.Wallasey, Merseyside, UK 1956) lived in Ireland during the 1980s and recently moved to France. Olverson studied at Southport College of Art, Cardiff College of Art. Exhibitions have included at the Berkeley Square Gallery, Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, 1993. Ndoto Woman (Victoria Galerlry & Museum, University of Liverpool) was originally conceived, not as an outdoor sculpture, but as a sculpture made in papier-mâché form. The donors, Eric and Jean Cass were keen to show the work outside and so commissioned a new piece from Olverson, keeping closely to the original work but in bronze, before they gifted it through the Contemporary Art Society in 2010.
