Vasyl Khmeluk (1903 - 1986)

Biography

Vasyl Khmeluk (b. Berezivka, Ukraine 1903 - d. Paris, France 1986) studied art in Prague in the Ukrainian Studios of Plastic Arts in 1920s. Thereafter he moved to Paris. In 1936 – 1938 he had his first solo exhibitions in Paris, and later in London and New York and retrospective exhibitions were held in Munich, New York and Geneva. Works by Khemluk are in permanent collections of Lviv Museum of Fine Art, Museum of Contemporary Art in Paris, Kunstmuseum Luzern, Museum of Contemporary Art in Stockholm.
