Biography
Tibbie Levy (b. New York, USA 1908 - d. ?), who as a painter she signed herself 'Lysan', was daughter of David Goldstein and Minnie Hoffman, was a lawyer and a painter. She studied at Cornell University, 1929-30 and did her Juris Doctor at New York University, 1931. She also studied with the Armenian artist Arshile Gorky (1904-1948) at the Art Students League, New York, and with Andre L'Hote (1885-1962) and at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris. She married Eli Bennett Levy in 1931.
