Biography
Thomas Hill (b. Essex, UK 1971) is both draughtsman and metalworker who has lived and worked in San Francisco since 1999. He uses bound wire for its ability to imitate quickly drawn sketches he makes of birds and animals in motion. In this way his three-dimensional objects capture a sense of movement, such as with birds in flight like the Black Beaked Flying Bound Wire Bird (2004) acquired by the Contemporary Art Society for Aberdeen Art Gallery, Scotland in 2005.
