Robert Foster (1962 - 2016)

Biography

Robert Foster (b. Bendigo, Australia 1962 – d.  Canberra 2016) studied gold and silversmithing at the Australian National University’s School of Art & Design, Canberra (1985). He trained with Ragnar Hansen and became renowned for his holloware. He established his own production company F!INK + Co in 1993 in Queanbeyan, NSW, Australia and was joined by Gretel Harrison in 1995. He was killed in a car accident in 2016 but his work is held in Australian museums such as  the National Gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria and the Powerhouse Museum and international museums such as the Alessi Museum, Milan, the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg, Aberdeen Art Gallery and Musuem, Scotland and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
