Koichiro Yamamoto (1969)

Biography

Koichiro Yamamoto (b. Nagoya, Japan 1969) studied at Tsukuba University (1987-1992) and Royal College of Art (MA) (1996-1998). He was part of several artist in residence programmes across the UK, including The University of Central Lancashire, where he was also a part time lecturer (2000-2001). Selected solo and groups shows include Asahi Art Festival Noborito Matinaka Art Project #3, Tama, Kawasaki, Japan; A Japanese Dialogue, The Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh, Scotland; ART SENDAI 2008, Ichibancho Yoncho-me, Toichi Market, Sendai, Japan; ARTKIDS EXPO in Ueno Park 2008, The Royal Museum, Ueno, Tokyo, Japan (all 2008); Asahi Art Festival Noborito Matinaka Art Project #2 Noborito Art Street , Tama, Kawasaki, Japan (2007) ; Asahi Art Festival Noborito Matinaka Art Project #1 TAMAKAN SAYONARA PARTY, Tama, Kawasaki, Japan; Kawasaki Contemporary Sculpture Exhibition 2006, Kawasaki, Japan; New Showcase, Victoria & Albert Museum, London; JAPAN, Transparent Rock, Oxfordshire, UK; JAPAN, Plateaux Gallery, London; Collect, Victoria & Albert Museum, London (all in 2006). His work is held in several national and international collections.
