Katharine Frances Clausen O'Brien (1886 - 1936)

Biography

Katharine Frances Clausen O'Brien (b. New York, USA 1886 - d. 1936). She was the second daughter of Sir George Clausen RA (1852-1944) and Agnes Mary Webster. She studied at the Royal Academy Schools and married the brother of Dermond O'Brien, Conor O'Brien, an Irish master mariner with whom she sailed frequently. She exhibited at the Royal Academy, New English Art Club, Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours, Goupil Gallery, Beaux Arts Gallery, who also held her memorial show in 1936, and the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
