Dr Joanne Tatham (1971)

Biography

Joanne Tatham (b. West Yorkshire, UK 1971) studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee (1993); Glasgow School of Art (1995) and completed her PhD at University of Leeds (2004). She is one half of the artist duo Joanne Tatham & Tom O'Sullivan who met at Glasgow School of Art in mid 1990s. Tatham is also a teacher; she was appointed as a Senior Lecturer at Northumbria University, Newcastle in 2011 and was made a Reader in 2015, with the role transmuted to Associate Professor in 2016. She previously held academic posts at Gray’s School of Art at Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University and Valand Academy, University of Gothenburg. She has been a Visiting Lecturer at many higher education institutions, including the Ruskin School of Art at the University of Oxford, Rotterdam’s Piet Zwart Institute, Goldsmiths College, London and Teesside University, Middlesbrough.She was appointed Reader in Contempoart Art (Sculpture) to the Royal College of Art, London in 2017.
