Jacob Bornfriend (1904 - 1976)

Biography

Jacob Bornfriend (b. Zborov, Czechoslovakia 1904 - d. 1976) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague, 1930–5 under Willi Nowak (1886-1977). He executed a mural for a private house near Prague 1936 (destroyed) and lost all his earlier work on coming to England in 1939.  His first London one-man exhibition was held at Roland, Browse and Delbanco 1950. Executed a large mural for the Jews' College, London, 1957.
