Elinor Bellingham-Smith (1906 - 1988)

Biography

Elinor Bellingham-Smith (b. London, UK 1906 - d. 1988) was a painter of landscapes, figures, usually in landscape, and still life. She was the daughter of a surgeon and art collector and niece of the painter Hugh Bellingham-Smith (1866-1935). She studied at the Slade School of Fine Art (1928–31) and married Rodrigo Moynihan 1931. She exhibited with The London Group from 1931 and at the A. from 1948; her first solo exhibition was held at the Leicester Galleries in 1948.
