Biography
Effie Burns (b. Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK 1974) studied glass with ceramics 3D design at the University of Sunderland (1996-99) and taught on its postgraduate course there (2004-07). Her solo exhibitions have included: Earthly Treasures, Ruthin Craft Centre, Wales (2024); Natural Selection, Northern Print, Newcastle upon Tyne (2022) and 12 weeks 12 artists, New Art at Home Project Space, London, including Sunday Salon artist’s talk (2021). Recent group exhibitions include Somerset House, London; Gallagher & Turner, Newcastle upon Tyne; Glass Museum, Germany (all 2023); Armitt Museum and Library, Lake District; London Glass Blowing (all 2022); and National Glass Centre, Sunderland (2021).
