Edwin Greenman FRSA (1909 - 2003)

Biography

Edwin Greenman (b. Beckenham, Kent, UK 1909 - d. Epsom, Surrey, UK 2003) studied at the Beckenham School of Art (1926-9) with Henry Carr (1894-1970) and at the Royal College of Art (1929-1933). From 1968 he was a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and from 1971 Fellow of the Royal Society of Artists. He exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts between 1931 and 1967 and in 1938 at the World Exposition in New York. He was the Principal of the Sir John Cass School of Art (1951-1969).
