Edward Felix Wakeford ARA (1914 - 1973)

Biography

Edward Felix Wakeford (b. Onchan, Isle of Man 1914 - d. London 1973) studied at the Chelsea School of Art, where he later taught, and at the Royal College of Art. He was appointed an ARA in 1968. He exhibited at the Hanover Gallery and Brook Street Gallery, in 1973 a memorial exhibition was mounted at the Fieldbourne Galleries and, in 1986, his work was shown at Abbot Hall Art Gallery. He was an artist working in collage but also did illustrative work for Shell-Mex and BP and wrote the book A Prize for ArtI (1961).
