Chris Hammond

Biography

Chris Hammond is the founder and director of MOT International where his projects and represented artists attract critical acclaim. Hammond has organised more than eighty exhibitions showing major artists such as Martin Creed, Jeremy Deller, Liam Gillick, Rodney Graham, Mike Kelley, Martin Kippenberger, Derek Jarman, Sarah Lucas, Paul McCarthy, Mark Wallinger, Lawrence Weiner, Franz West and Christopher Wool. Hammond continues to influence a new generation through the continued expansion of his gallery and the representation of a key group of artists at an international level. Hammond is also a lecturer in Curating MFA at Goldsmiths, University of London. In 2012 the Contemporary Art Society acquired Elizabeth Price, User Group Disco (2009) from MOT International for the National Gallery of Scotland collection.
