Bertram Buchanan (1881 - 1925)

Biography

Bertram Buchanan (b. Lucknow, India 1881 - d. 1925) was an etcher and watercolourist and wood-engraver. He started etching in 1900. After serving in the army in the First World War he lived on a farm in Rye, Sussex and was known at the time as 'Farmer Etcher'. He exhibited some forty aquatints at Bloomhead, Cutts & Co, Cork Street. London in 1920. He was father of the artist Jan Buchanan (1912-1989).
