Ben Joiner (1952)

Biography

Ben Joiner (b. UK 1952) studied at Chelsea School of Art (1977-80 and 1980-1). He is a sculptor and teacher working in such materials as patinated mild steel and rubber. Among his exhibitions were ICA New Contemporaries (1980); Camden Annual (1986); Whitechapel Art Gallery (1989); and Canterbury Sculpture Exhibitions from 1990, with a solo exhibition at Harriet Green (1997). He won a Greater London Arts Award in 1983 and a commission for Brent Magistrates Court and one for Leamington Spa in 1990. In 1989, when Joiner participated in East End Open Studios, based at Robinson Road, he was teaching at Harrow School of Art.
