Adrian Bannon (1959)

Biography

Adrian Bannon (b. England 1959) studied fine art at the University of Reading. He was artist-in-residence at Goldsmiths’ College (1985–6), and in 1987 had a solo show at the Oriel Gallery in North Wales. He has worked in the traditions of the Italian Arte Povera movement to bring the natural world within the experience of art. A large version of his Thistledown Coat series is in the collection of the Manchester Museum of Science and Technology. Bannon has taken part in a number exhibitions at England & Co., London including: Art in Boxes(1992) and Nature Studies ii (1996); The Map Is Not the Territory i and ii (2002 & 2002); Nature Studies iii (2003); Sartorial (2003) and After a Fashion (2005) as well as The Courtauld Institute Biennial Exhibition (1997–8); Sky-Lines (installation), The Yard Gallery, Wollaton Park, Nottingham (1998); Addressing the Century: 100 Years of Art & Fashion, Hayward Gallery, London, and the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, Germany (1999) and La Beauté- the French Government Millennium Exhibition, Avignon, France (2000).
